Ms Kerstin Jonsson Cissé heads the Unit for Global Sustainable Economic Development at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and is responsible for the implementation of the strategy on Global Sustainable Economic Development. The strategy includes private sector development, sustainable business, innovation, free and fair trade, improved agriculture and food security.
Prior to her current role, Ms Cissé has, among other things, worked as Lead Policy Specialist on Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security and as Country Director for Sida’s development cooperation with Mali and Burkina Faso. Ms Cissé has spent 11 years in West Africa working with agroforestry, humanitarian and post-conflict development cooperation. Ms Cissé holds a doctoral degree from the Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences with focus on agroforestry.
