Kathy Mignano, Operations Officer in the Gender and Economic Inclusion Group at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), works to advance the private sector’s role in reaching base of the pyramid markets through sustainable business models. She supports the Inclusive Business elements of IFC’s Anticipated Impact Measurement and Monitoring framework and advises IFC investment teams on inclusiveness claims. Kathy coordinated IFC’s support to the G20 on the topic of Inclusive Business across three G20 presidencies, including development of the G20 Inclusive Business Framework. She has authored many reports and case studies on Inclusive Business, including the recent note on Leveraging Inclusive Business Models to Support the Base of the Pyramid during COVID-19.
Kathy has collaborated on IFC’s Social Bond Program since its inception and been active in the Green and Social Bond Principles’ Social Bond Working Group since 2017, drafting guidance such as the High-Level Mapping to the Sustainable Development Goals as well as Working Towards a Harmonized Framework on Impact Reporting. Prior to joining IFC in 2013, she worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Urban Institute. She holds an MS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and BA in Business Administration from Furman University.
