Caroline Ashley leads international programming related to economic justice at Oxfam GB, covering inclusive markets, private sector engagement, women’s economic empowerment, climate change and resilience. By background, she is a socio-economist in international development, with a focus on how markets and enterprise can be shaped for greater equity, inclusion and impact. She has worked on inclusive business, impact investment, rural livelihoods, pro-poor growth, and lived in Africa and Asia. Prior to Oxfam, she ran her own business consulting for bilateral and multilateral donors, DFIs, and companies, led on results measurement in several challenge funds, spent over a decade at the Overseas Development Institute, and worked in the Namibian Government and US and UK parliaments.
